Lake Baikal

As I mentioned in my previous post I visited lake Baikal a couple of weeks ago. Situated in south-east Siberia, the 3.15-million-ha Lake Baikal is the oldest (25 million years) and deepest (1,700 m) lake in the world. It contains 20% of the world's total unfrozen freshwater reserve. It is enlisted in the Unesco World Heritage program.

I was in the region for a short visit only, and I had very little time for photography. I only managed to make a few snapshots but you can find outstanding landscapes of Baikal in the internet.

Being away

I've been traveling the last few weeks and didn't have time to blog. Last week I was in Siberia, about 6300 kilometers from Brussels. I was lucky having fantastic weather (unusual for this time of the year) - it was warm and sunny, and there were still some red and yellow leaves on the trees... I had little time for photography but I made a few pics - they will follow later, after I will get back to my normal PC.
